From compelling exhibitions that highlight Luther's timeless message to intimate concerts that bring to life the spirit of his time, there is something for everyone in our museum. Explore the profound themes Luther cherished, from religious freedom and social justice to the power of the written word.
Discover the exhibition The Many Faces of Katharina from 24 October onwards. Five hundred years after her historic marriage to Martin Luther, the exhibition delves into the multifaceted story of Katharina von Bora (1499-1552): the woman who for centuries was mainly referred to as “the wife of”, but who was so much more than that.
Commissioned by the Luther Museum, photographer Oxiea Villamonte (1995) translates the themes of the exhibition about Katharina von Bora into a contemporary form. In the museum's regent rooms, she presents a series of nine photographs that explore the role and position of women in our present time. The photos address self-image and the many roles that women in our day try to unite within themselves and express outwardly.
