Duo Pleyel Museum Series – presents new talent

From March through December 2026, the Luther Museum Amsterdam will host the Duo Pleyel Museum Series , the successor to the successful Geelvinck Salon Concerts. This new series of six Sunday afternoon concerts focuses on the encounter between musical heritage and contemporary talent. Duo Pleyel curates programs that align with the themes of the museum exhibitions and performs a broad and surprising repertoire: from Buxtehude, Bach, and Beethoven to Bernstein, and from Schubert to Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and The Clash.

For each concert, Duo Pleyel invites an exceptional young musician studying in the Netherlands and drawn from the Young Talent classes of the conservatories. The series thus provides a platform for the musical heroes of tomorrow.

Tickets are €18 for adults and €10 for students (upon presentation of a student card) and €8 for children between 8 and 18

A tribute to Duo Pleyel

The series is named after the renowned Duo Pleyel: keyboard duo Richard Egarr and Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya. They are internationally renowned for their virtuoso four-handed playing and their specialization in historical keyboard instruments. The duo takes its name from their beloved 1848 Pleyel grand piano – built by Chopin's favorite piano maker. Their collaboration is characterized by a unique artistic symbiosis and a deep love of chamber music in dialogue with other musicians.

Young talent in an intimate museum setting

Each concert offers a stage to a talented young musician, allowing them to gain stage experience. The intimate setting is unforgettable for both the audience and the musicians.
