Together with a distant descendant of Martin Luther, we are organizing a musical program. Henning Luther takes everyone on a jazzy musical adventure until midnight.
On the evening itself, we will work with a short schedule. Alternating between a guided tour and music, with the continuous opportunity to enjoy the bar!
The concert takes place in the intimate and atmospheric setting of 'The Luther Museum', a venue that perfectly complements the warm sounds of the trio. Whether you are a seasoned jazz fan or simply curious about something new, this performance is accessible to everyone.
We will fill this evening with a special blend of original work and improvisation. The combination of instruments, in particular, is something the listening audience will not often encounter in the context of Jazz and improvisation: Harp/sax/electronic percussion.
Sara Brink-Nielsen is a versatile jazz and improvisation harpist. She explores the boundaries of her instrument through free improvisation and various styles, with a focus on modern jazz. She plays with, among others, Teus Nobel, Itai Weissman, and the NJJO under the direction of Reinier Baas. Currently, Sara is studying Jazz Harp with Bert van den Brink and Composition with Anne-Maartje Lemereis.
A distant descendant of the great Martin Luther, Henning Luther is an equally talented musician and composer, known for his ability to bring the essence of jazz to life. Henning Luther studied percussion at the Franz Liszt Hochschule Weimar (Germany) and the Amsterdam Conservatory. He plays various genres and works on diverse projects both at home and abroad. Additionally, he teaches drums and is involved in the development of music and language projects for the Goethe-Institut Netherlands. With Itai Weissman, he leads the power jazz trio UsedToBeNew, which has released two albums to date: Check my Independence and Popular Emotions.
Henning Luter and Itai Weissman have been collaborating for years in various musical formations. Their project Used to be New focuses on exploring the connection between cultural heritage and music from different parts of the world. For this special performance, Used to be New invites harpist Sarah Brink Nielsen. Sarah Brink Nielsen is a promising, emerging Dutch artist who is increasingly making a name for herself. Together, they embark on a musical adventure, especially for this evening.
