Benefit: Oleg Lysenko & Henk Verhoef
The bayan (button accordion) is actually nothing more or less than a mini-organ, but with its own musical tradition. Oleg Lysenko (bayan) and Henk Verhoef (organ) make both air instruments sound dependent on each other. A fusion of instruments from different times and regions, with musical highlights from east and west.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Oleg has performed over a hundred benefit concerts to raise money for ambulances and other medical supplies. He is the co-founder and chairman of Music for Ukraine, a foundation that combines fundraising for essential humanitarian aid to Ukraine with the support and dissemination of Ukraine’s rich musical culture.
With his bayan (button accordion) Oleg is committed to his native country, by raising money for medical supplies. With the proceeds of previous benefit concerts Oleg has so far played together four ambulances and sent them to Ukraine.
